World Arabic Language Day

World Arabic Language Day

World Arabic Language Day celebrates the Arabic language on 18 December each year. It is the day when the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 3190 in December 1973, which endorsed the inclusion of Arabic in the official and working languages of the United Nations, following a proposal made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Morocco during the 190th session of the Executive Board of UNESCO.
