The College of Applied Medical Sciences in Khamis Mushait, a part of King Khalid University, acknowledges its significant role in serving the community. To embrace this responsibility, the college has actively sought to enhance its community engagement initiatives by developing a comprehensive strategic plan designed to raise awareness and foster a culture of health among all community members. This strategic plan aims to promote active participation by faculty members, including students, instructional staff, and administrative personnel, in collaborative efforts with various local institutions. By facilitating opportunities for volunteering and community service, the college seeks to empower its members to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of society, both within the campus and in the surrounding area. This approach ensures that all activities align with the university's approved guidelines and directives for community service. In the first semester of the academic year 1442, the college's female section successfully recorded an impressive total of 288 volunteer hours. These hours reflect the dedication and commitment of the faculty and students to uplifting the community. Furthermore, the college proudly earned first place in university-level community service for the academic year 1441 AH, highlighting its leadership and excellence in this area. With continued support and guidance from God Almighty, the college is optimistic about sustaining and expanding its community service efforts, aiming to make a profound impact on the health and well-being of the community it serves.

Duties

Community service is an essential activity. It is implemented by setting an organized framework for various events such as training courses, scientific symposia, workshops, awareness campaigns, discussion panels, international days, and others provided by the college's employees as community service. For community service to be purposeful, it should include cultural, educational, social, and health activities according to an approved plan in line with community service objectives.

  • Develop an executive plan for all community activities; determine the responsibilities and schedule in the preparation of which all employees of the faculty and student clubs participate.
  • Organizing and documenting community service activities and their development.
  • Follow up on the implementation and coordination of events and activities.
  • Issuing certificates of activities provided to the trainees and trainers.
  • Preparing the quarterly community service report.
  • Evaluating the college departments' participation in community service activities and events.
  • Attracting ideas and initiatives and urging all faculty members to participate in the community.
